Baila Hall, Ph.D., joined the Office of Scientific Review at the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) in July 2023 as a scientific review officer. She manages and coordinates the scientific review of applications submitted to NCCIH in response to various notices of funding opportunities (NOFOs). Dr. Hall received her Ph.D. in neuroscience from Weill Cornell Medicine where she investigated frontostriatal circuit function in social hierarchy behaviors, resiliency to chronic social stress, and social choice. She next completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles where she studied the neural circuits of adaptive and maladaptive reward-related learning and decision making using activity-dependent identification and manipulation of defined neuronal ensembles and in vivo calcium recordings.
