The HerbList application, published by the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH), provides research-based information about the safety and effectiveness of herbal products. The app includes science-based summaries on more than 50 popular herbs. This app advances NCCIH’s mission by providing the public with information on the usefulness and safety of complementary and integrative health interventions. HerbList is a mark of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
This app allows its users to bookmark favorite herbs and share information via social media, text, and email. Users may also save pages of the app to files on their individual device. The information the user chooses to enter in the app stays local to the device and may be deleted at any time. NCCIH does not collect any data about what information the user enters or shares via the app.
Uses of Information
The information users choose to put into the app is for their use only. NCCIH does not collect or have access to this information.
No information is collected by NCCIH, therefore information is not shared with any other institutes or organizations.
All user activity is secured by the local operating system of the users' device. Individuals’ information security depends on how they have set up their device’s security features. As NCCIH does not collect information, it is not responsible for maintaining or securing information provided by the user.
How To Access or Correct Your Information
All user activity remains local to the users' device. They may enter new data, change existing data, or permanently delete data at any time. The processes for doing this are built into the app. Because NCCIH does not collect user-entered information, there is no process for users to access their records, review the accuracy of the information, or file complaints through NCCIH.
