NIH Fogarty International Opportunities for Foreign Scientists

The Fogarty International Center is dedicated to advancing the mission of the National Institutes of Health by supporting and facilitating global health research conducted by U.S. and international investigators, building partnerships between health research institutions in the U.S. and abroad, and training the next generation of scientists to address global health needs.

Fogarty and its partners throughout NIH are working to build sustainable research capacity in low- and middle-income countries through a variety of research and research training programs. Such programs include Fogarty’s research grants, training grants, and fellowship programs—including the Global Health Program for Fellows and Scholars. This program provides supportive mentorship, research opportunities, and a collaborative research environment for early stage investigators from the U.S. and low- and middle-income countries to enhance their global health research expertise and their careers.
